About this course

Office 365 is Microsoft’s cloud offering, it brings together a suite of productivity, communication and collaboration tools, and delivers them as a subscription service enabled over the internet (cloud). With Office 365, you can work anywhere, anytime, on any device – as long as you have an internet connection.

Is this course for you?

This course is appropriate for anyone who uses Office 365 in a business and personal environment. This course is definitely for you if:

  • You have Office 365 but you only really use the usual Office suite, such as Outlook email, Word and Excel
  • You need a video conferencing tool, and want to use Instant Messaging and other modern communication tools to reduce costs and improve efficiencies
  • Your business has multiple sites and offices that are geographically dispersed, and you want to work better together
  • You struggle to find the information you need when you want it
  • You need to share and collaborate on documents with colleagues, partners, clients or suppliers
  • You need to share information and work collaboratively with others in your team or organisation
  • You’ve seen SharePoint on your Office 365 dashboard, but don’t know what it is, or what it can do for you

Prerequisite

You will already have the essential skills needed to work in a Windows environment.

Delivery and learning method

This course is delivered by a certified Microsoft® Office Specialist and is currently offered as a client workshop or as individual coaching. The course duration is approx. 2-3 hours, depending on the required delivery method.

Learning outcomes

By the end of this course, you should be able to confidently:

  • Define what the cloud is, and explain the benefits of Office 365
  • Login and navigate the Office 365 portal
  • Work with Outlook and Office Online
  • Define what SharePoint is, and understand the opportunities for your business
  • Add key content to a SharePoint site, including news, links, tasks and calendar items
  • Upload documents and images to SharePoint
  • Understand how an intranet can improve your organisation’s productivity and communications using Blogs, Wikis and Forums to share knowledge
  • Define what Skype for Business (Lync) is, and identify the key features that are useful in your business
  • Send Instant Messages and make video and audio calls using Skype for Business (Lync)
    Share desktop, files, whiteboards and links using Skype for Business (Lync)
  • Create a new Skype meeting appointment in Outlook Calendar, take notes (and run the agenda) using OneNote

An introduction to digital note-taking

Learn how to capture information and ideas and “to-do” lists in one safe place using OneNote. Then share your notes across any of your devices to quickly reference or update them. Life can be a whole lot more organised using OneNote.

About this course

This course is for anyone who wants to use Microsoft’s digital note-taking tool, OneNote. This course aims to teach you the features that will help you to collect your notes and ideas in one central place, allow you to share or secure your notes, and integrate your notes with other productivity tools like Outlook messages, tasks and calendar.

This course is appropriate for anyone who uses OneNote in a business and personal environment.
