Why are my Outlook folders no longer alphabetically listed?

Posted November 11, 2013

If you have recently upgraded to a more recent version of Outlook you may be asking ‘why are my folders no longer alphabetically listed?’. Outlook now offers you the freedom of reordering your folders in any order that takes your fancy.

Now you can simply drag your most used folders to the top of the folder list.  No more fussing around placing numbers and zz’s  in front of folder names.

Newly created folders are automatically placed at the top of the folder list.

If you would rather stay with having your folders alphabetically listed click the Folder tab and then click the Show all folders A to Z button.

To return to reordering your folders in any order you like you will need to return to the View tab and turn the A to Z option off.
