Outlook – Take control of the To-Do Bar

PROBLEM: Seeing too much or too little info on the To-Do Bar.

SOLUTION: Customise the settings so that you see only what you want to see on the To-Do Bar.

Outlook 2010, 2013 & 2016 – Customising the To-Do Bar

You can customise the components displayed on the To-Do Bar.

To do this in Outlook 2010:

  1. From the View tab in the Layout group click the To-Do Bar button.
  2. Set the options you require:
    – To hide the To-Do bar click Off
    – To minimize To-Do bar click Minimized
    – To display the To-Do bar click Normal
    – To change the information displayed in the To-Do bar click Options.  From here you can customise the Date Navigator settings and hide or display your appointments and tasks.
  3. The To-Do Bar will be updated with your changes.

To do this in Outlook 2013:

  1. From the View tab in the Layout group click the To-Do Bar button.
  2. Set the options you require:
    – To hide the To-Do bar click Off
    – To display the Date Navigator and your upcoming appointments click Calendar
    – To display your Contact Favorites click People.
  3. The To-Do Bar will be updated with your changes.
