Excel – Control key shortcut tips to save you time

PROBLEM: Using the mouse to perform repetitive tasks can really slow you down.

SOLUTION: Learn this group of CTRL key combination shortcuts and start saving yourself a heap of time.

Microsoft Excel and Access – useful shortcuts using the CTRL key

Use the CTRL key and shortcut keys to quickly insert information into cells:

  • To quickly copy the content of the cell above press CTRL + “ (quotation mark)
  • To quickly insert today’s date into a cell press CTRL + ; (semi-colon)
  • To quickly insert the time into a cell press CTRL + : (colon)
  • ….and remember, the wonderful CTRL + Z key combination will always Undo your last action.
